When you stopped by, we checked the vehicle before running a smog inspection and found that the emissions monitors were still not set. In that situation, the vehicle isn’t ready to be tested yet and would automatically fail, so we try to save our customers time and money by verifying that first. We understand you were told differently elsewhere, which can definitely be confusing. Our goal is always to give accurate information based on what the vehicle is reporting at that moment. For anyone who’s not familiar, emissions monitors have to complete specific drive cycles before a vehicle can pass smog. Hey Ronnie, thanks for your review. We would like to clarify that you brought your vehicle in after replacing the engine and lots of other parts and it would not start. We found that the engine was very difficult to turn over and with your authorization we disconnected the engine from the torque converter and determined that the engine was likely installed correctly and possibly caused transmission damage in the process. You wanted us to give you paperwork that your used engine was bad so you could get your money back for it and we could not tell you that without completely removing it. We advised you that we were not interested in continuing inspection or repairs due to the poor work that had been done and the likelihood of transmission damage which would make cost effective repairs very unlikely. I will also point out that you wanted to pay us more money to diagnose the computer communication problem after you replaced the computer in the vehicle which we again declined to go further due to the work and damage that was done to the vehicle prior to us receiving it.
